Super thick book from Stephenie Meyer tells about a kind of alien invasions (called souls) who colonized the earth. The souls rule the earth, to invade the human body and remove his personality because man is considered dangerous. But there are few humans who survived and refused to be colonized, one of them is Melanie Stryder. Woman’s body is attacked by the soul named Wanderer, who is one of the strongest souls and is a frequent host of many planetary colonies.
Wanderer has been warned about the challenges that will be encountered when colonizing the human body, because humans have much strength such as emotional, sensory, and memory was strong enough that it’s hard to be colonized alien. Difficulty Wanderer compound when Melanie tried hard to maintain her body and mind. When Wanderer browse Melanie’s mind to expose human hideaway location which still free and in hiding, Melanie flood her mind with the figure of Jared, the man she loved who was also still in hiding. Because too often see Jared, Wanderer come to like and want Jared. Finally, with Melanie, Wanderer decided to go wandering, looking for Jared.
In the early chapters, perhaps we will be slightly confuse reading this novel to distinguish between the words “My” in the form of Melanie and Wanderer, because they both speak in a body with a different mind. Moral values that can be drawn from this novel is, we as humans have a tremendous power to manifest our dreams, no matter how great the challenge or problem that we face, we must struggling to make it happen.
